An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is also known as an uninterruptible power source. It is an electrical device that filters your incoming power and protects your equipment from spikes, dips, surges, high/low voltages and blackouts. Various backup options are available and the period of backup time depends on the client. In the event of a power shortage, an uninterruptable power supply will provide you with enough time to save your work on your PC and shut your system down properly. The alternative will be to have larger battery banks to provide up to 12 hours battery backup. Read our UPS technologies page for more information on how line-interactive and on-line UPS’s work.
